Quick Details
Join us in historic downtown McKinney as we indulge in five-star cocktails and delectable appetizers. This isn’t your average bar crawl!
Food Walks of Texas offers visitors as well as natives a unique and tasty way to explore historic downtown McKinney.
Our 2.5-hour Cocktail Tour includes 5 tasting stops at a variety of locally owned restaurants and bars. Enjoy learning about the uniqueness of each restaurant, what makes their cocktail special, as well as the other cultural landmarks and events McKinney has to offer.
We leisurely and safely cover 1 mile strolling around the downtown Square area, spending a sufficient amount of time at each stop. Wear comfy shoes, come thirsty, and get ready to have an exciting evening! While we serve food tastings alongside the drinks, we end the evening near the center of the Square, so you can enjoy dinner after if desired.
Look for your tour guide – “Tall Paul” – near the benches in front of The Celt.
The Celt
The Celt’s motto is “There are no strangers here; only friends you haven’t yet met!” You’ll be satiated by some traditional Irish fare.
CT Provisions Cocktail Parlor & Kitchen
A progressive take on American dining, this restaurant offers thoughtfully prepared dishes with a touch of artful technique and beautiful cocktails rooted in the classics.
Cocktail Creamery
This creamery serves up alcohol-infused (and regular!) ice cream and sorbet. This is a sweet experience you won’t soon forget.
Local Yocal BBQ & Grill
The place to get the quintessential Texas experience. Beef-centric, down-to-earth, with honestly sourced and prepared food and tantalizing cocktails.
Sugarbacon Proper Kitchen
As noted by the 2 gas pumps outside, Sugarbacon resides in a former service station. Fast forward to today: it’s an acclaimed eatery serving New American food with Southern flair.
Your tour guide will greet you near the benches outside of The Celt, located at 100 N. Tennessee St. There are several FREE parking lots around the Square. Another ideal parking option is the FREE parking garage on the NE corner of E. Virginia St. and N. Chestnut. Be on the lookout for the “Parking Lot” signs posted around the area. Individual street parking is also available, but limited.
Absolutely! Many of our tour guests are local yokels! While you may be familiar with the downtown Square, our walking route, and some of the tasting locations, we hope to offer up new food items and the opportunity to learn more about the establishments themselves. We’ll be sharing many interesting insights around the chefs/owners of these fine establishments and why they chose to call McKinney home. Besides, there’s always something fascinating and new to learn about McKinney’s rich history!
As a local, you’ll have the unique advantage to re-visit many of the eateries on the tour, as well as others we recommend, all at your leisure. It’s also a great opportunity to show off our lovely historic downtown Square to visiting family and friends or co-workers!
The tours are held rain or shine because the food tastes great in any weather. Texas weather is usually good year-round, but we suggest you check the weather conditions for the day of your tour and dress appropriately.
